Skin Grafts

May 24, 2024
Skin Grafts, often called skin substitutes are an essential aspect of wound care.

Cellular tissue products, CTP's or often simply called skin substitues, are an essential aspect of advanced wound care. At Getting Well we follow general guidelines from insurance companies: if there is no progress in the healing of a wound while all other barriers have been adressed, CTP's may be employed.

In no case will we establish a patient and immediately use these products.

It is pertinent to first evaluate the patient, establish cause for the wound and practice standard of care. If the volume reduction is sufficient for normal wound healing, we will not use CTP's.

However, the option is available and has helped quite a few of our patients to heal their wounds.
